Of course, this isn’t to say that there aren’t challenges ahead. The rating system, while well-intentioned, can be frustratingly arbitrary at times. I’ve seen games like Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Forbidden West excluded from the verified list despite running perfectly well on the Steam Deck. It’s a shame, because these are exactly the kind of games that showcase the Steam Deck’s capabilities.
Despite these frustrations, it’s clear that Valve is committed to making the Steam Deck the best it can be. And with the Steam Deck OLED, it’s clear that they’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with handheld gaming.
