As I sat down to write this article, I couldn’t help but think about the possibilities of a handheld Xbox console. It’s an idea that’s been floating around for a while, but recent comments from Xbox boss Phil Spencer have got me excited. In a recent interview with IGN, Spencer dropped a major hint that Microsoft could be working on a handheld Xbox console.

“So we should have a handheld? I think we should have a handheld too.”

These words, spoken by Spencer himself, have sparked a flurry of speculation about what this handheld console could look like. Would it be a Steam Deck-like device, allowing users to play games offline? Or would it be a cloud-based device, relying on internet connectivity to stream games?
