The new app, called Steam Game Recording, allows users to record their gameplay and edit it online. The feature is currently in beta, but it’s available on both Steam on PC and Steam Deck.

To access the feature, users need to opt into the Game Recording beta by going to the Settings menu, finding the Interface section, and selecting Beta Participation. Once opted in, users can set the app to record their gameplay when they press a hotkey or constantly record in the background while they play.

The app also allows users to export their clips to a PC or the Steam mobile app for sharing purposes. A replay feature is also available, which lets users watch what just happened to them in a game, hopefully helping them avoid it a second time.

This new feature is a solid effort by Valve, especially considering the current state of social clip sharing features on game consoles. The Steam Deck is slowly but surely becoming a powerhouse in the handheld gaming market, and this update is a testament to that.

In other Steam Deck news, MSI Claw 8 AI+ is a new handheld gaming PC that’s giving the Steam Deck a run for its money. But with updates like this, it’s clear that Valve is committed to making the Steam Deck the best it can be.
