Embark on a Gaming Odyssey: ASUS ROG Ally X Unveiled
The wait is finally over, and ASUS has officially revealed the ROG Ally X, the latest iteration of their popular PC gaming handheld. This new device boasts significant upgrades, including a bigger battery pack, more RAM, and a sleek new design.
A sleek new design for the ROG Ally X
The original ROG Ally was released in 2023, featuring the AMD Z1 and Z1 extreme processors and running Windows 11 for maximum compatibility. The new ROG Ally X takes things to the next level, with ASUS SVP Shawn Yen stating that the company has placed a bigger battery pack inside the handheld, aiming for more than double the battery life.
“We’re not looking at 30 to 40 percent more capacity,” Yen said. “We’re looking at way more than that.”
The ROG Ally X also features a variable refresh rate on its seven-inch LCD panel, similar to the Steam Deck OLED. However, the new device will come with more RAM, which should result in better performance in the latest AAA titles and lower power usage when running smaller indie games.

The ROG Ally X may also feature a longer M.2 2280 SSD slot, making it easier for users to upgrade their storage. This, combined with the use of AMD’s Fluid Motion Frames, should result in a sizable jump in performance and better battery life.
With its sleek new design, bigger battery, and improved performance, the ROG Ally X is shaping up to be a formidable competitor in the PC gaming handheld market. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new device.
